Saramoldaeva orphanage is an orphanage for school-aged children located in the city of Taraz, Kazakhstan.  There are approximately 200 children at this orphanage, and the majority of them speak Russian. The children at Saramoldaeva orphanage live in family groups, and siblings are kept together when possible. These children attend the local schools in Taraz. Saramoldaeva orphanage has a student-led discipline system in which older children help monitor the orphanage and set up positive rewards and discipline for the orphanage. They feel that giving children responsibility, helps them to develop into responsible adults. Interlink Kids Connection sponsors
three of the family groups. Interlinkʼs primary involvement is with these three groups, however, Interlink often helps with projects that benefits the entire orphanage. Saramoldaeava trains children in sewing, woodwork, art, dance, singing, and computers.

Interlink was instrumental in setting up a woodshop at Sarmoldaeava in 2000. Also, Interlink partners with a local business man to provide some children the chance to particpate in Taekwondo, developing their discipline and their commitment to success. Kids Connection staff spend every Tuesday playing games, doing activities, or making crafts with the children in our three groups at Saramoldaeva as well as hosting a monthly birthday party for our children. Interlink Kids Connection has assisted in the purchase of wood that the woodshop uses to make new furniture for our groups and the orphanage as a whole.
