Ulan orphanage is located just a few miles from the Interlink Resources office in Taraz, Kazakhstan. In 1993, there was a growing need for a Kazakh speaking orphanage. There was not a place for orphans to be brought up speaking the Kazakh language and practicing their customs. Ulan orphanage is filling that need by providing a home to 140 children ages ranging from 5-16 years old. To help prepare the children for the future, they receive a good education at a local school. The orphanage also offers training in sewing, cooking, English, and computer use. Ulan has a music program where the children can take singing lessons, participate in dance, and learn how to play the Dombra, the national instrument. Children at Ulan are divided into groups based on age and their interests. There are two facilities that house the children. Primarily the children are divided between the two facilities by age. Each facility has a large yard in which the children are often found playing during the spring, summer, and fall. Ulan Orphanage desires to increase their children's knowledge of who they are and how they can best contribute to Kazakhstan as they grow into adults.

Interlink Kids Connection completed a playground at the younger children's building in 2007. Interlink Kid's Connection has been able to bless the children with gifts for different holidays, including fresh fruit for each child. Kids Connection staff put on monthly birthday parties, complete with games, cake, presents, and lots of fun. Kids Connection staff also spend every Thursday playing games, doing activities, or making crafts with the children of Ulan.
