How long does an internship at Interlink last?
An internship at Interlink can last anywhere from one month to one year, depending on your availability.
Are there any age limitations?
Applicants should have already graduated from high school.
Where will I be living?
You will have the opportunity to live with a Kazakh family. This will allow you to enjoy the rich culture of Kazakhstan and learn the language and customs.
What about language?
You will have the opportunity to learn the Kazakh language during your internship. We will set up language lessons for you that will work best with your learning preferences. Your host
family and national coworkers will be eager to encourage your language learning.
What kind of work will I be doing?
Our main focus at Interlink Resources is work with youth, primarily those that have lived in or are currently living in orphanages. Interns may also participate in business development or English training activities. We will match your strengths with the needs that Interlink has during the time you are here.
Should I apply for a passport?
Due to increased security, passport applications take several months. If you are considering an internship at Interlink, it would be best to take the time to go ahead and apply for a passport. This will open up possibilities for adventures all over the world.
How will my living expenses and travel be paid for?
You will have the opportunity to develop a team of personal and/or corporate sponsors that will fund your internship. Once accepted, we will give you assistance in knowing how to best develop this team.
Will I be on my own in Kazakhstan?
No. You will be operating as an integral part of two different teams while in Kazakhstan. One is a
team of expats living and working with Interlink in Kazakhstan. The second is the staff in our office that you will be interacting with daily.
What will happen after I apply?
Those applicants that are considered good candidates for the intern program will be contacted for an interview. You may also be asked to set up a conference call with your potential supervisor during your time in Kazakhstan. After this, you will be notified as to whether you are accepted.
